Mike Curtin is in his tenth season as the head athletic trainer/strength coach at UAF. His background is as varied as his job responsibilities with the Nanooks. After receiving a bachelor's degree in biology from UAF, he returned to school to get a second bachelor's degree from Oregon State in athletic training and exercise science. He then went on for his master's degree in athletic training at the University of Arizona. After graduate school, he returned to Fairbanks where he worked for Sportsmedicine Fairbanks as the director of athletic training for four years prior to coming to work for the Nanooks. Curtin, along with his assistant Masahiko Morita, oversees strength and conditioning duties for all the Nanook athletes.
