Ingrid Olson is in her fifth year as the assistant coach for cross country and skiing, beside head coach Scott Jerome. Under Olson and Jerome's guidance, Alaska qualified a full team of skiers for the 2008 NCAA Skiing Championships: the second-straight year the Nanooks have sent the maximum to the championships. At the event, Marius Korthauer, whom Olson worked with for four seasons, won the first NCAA championship in the history of the Nanooks' ski program. All told, Olson has helped produce 15 All-American honors in her four years with Alaska. Olson graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in May 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Health/Fitness. A three sport student-athlete at Gustavus, Olson led the Golden Gusties to conference championship titles in Nordic skiing (2002, 2003, 2004) and softball (2003). Olson was also a member of the cross country running team, which claimed its first ever Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship in 2003. Olson won the 10 km classical event at the 2003 MIAC Skiing Championships. She also led her team to fourth place at the 2004 Central Collegiate Ski Association Regional Championships, the team's best finish ever. Olson was the first alternate to the 2004 NCAA National Skiing Championships from the CCSA, and the best NCAA Division III skier in the central region. She missed her bid to NCAA nationals in a tie-breaker with Michigan Tech senior Toni McKnight. Olson was born and raised in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
