2007-2008 ... Scored first two career goals with one being the game-winner, causing his first career multi-point game in 4-2 win in exhibition game against Southern Alberta IT on Oct. 7 ... scored two goals in the Governor Cup Series ... Scored two third-period goals in the final four minutes on Nov. 24 to force a 4-4 tie against UNO.

Prior to Alaska ... played three seasons in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and was an assistant captain for the Brooks Bandits ... in 49 regular season games (2006-07), he had 28 goals and 23 assists for 51 points with 104 penalty minutes ... Novotney was named to the South Division Team for the 2007 AJHL All-Star Game and finished third overall in the AJHL Source for Sports Cup for compiling the most Player of the Game points during the season ... in 2005-06, he had 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points with 89 penalty minutes in 60 games ... he was MVP for the South Team in the Alberta Junior Hockey League Prospects Game and also played on the AJHL South team in the 2006 Viking Cup ...
