Mar Brunet of Spain made an impressive swimming debut with the Alaska Nanooks, but her Blue team still came up on the short end of a 102-72 score against the Gold in an intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at the Patty Center. Swimmers are rarely entered in back-to-back events, but that didn't seem to faze Brunet as her backstroke time of 59.75 seconds was more than three seconds faster than Russian sophomore Mariya Pavlovskaya and would have been an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time last year.
