Coach Lemley on Mariya:"I was very excited to see Mariya swim when she arrived in Fairbanks her freshman year. I'd only seen her best times and spoken to her on the phone until then. Her ability in the water exceeded my already high expectations. She was very homesick her first year and the transition from being a high school student in Russia to a college student in America was very challenging. Fortunately she is very bright and very motivated. She's been a wonderful addition to our team and has a very bright future." Personal: Daughter of Vladimir Pavlovskiy and Marina Chirkova.
