Season-best 4 aces on Aug. 23 against Hawaii Pacific ... sixth on the team in digs with 149 ... 2.10 digs per game in conference ... season-best 25 digs on Sept. 22 against Seattle ... registered double-figures in digs in four matches.

2006 ... Led the team in digs with 316 (3.72 per game) ... Had career-high of 27 digs on September 28 against Seattle University.

2005 ... Miranda came to the Nanooks as a freshman and played in every game her first season...led Nanooks in defense with 306 digs...set an individual match high for Nanooks in 2005 season with 24 digs in 5 games vs Western Oregon on September 29...because of her impressive efforts in the back court was awarded Best Defensive Player...was one of 2005 `Miss Fit' award receivers for highest summer workout and pre-season testing points.

Prior to Alaska ... Played club volleyball for Washington Volleyball Academy in Seattle.

Personal ... Daughter of Geri and Kevin Widell...siblings Stefani, Christopher...majoring in Biology.

Coach Shoemaker says ... "Miranda is another who was forced into action maybe a bit prematurely, but who loves to play volleyball, and compete. Maintains a positive focus, and works very, very hard for her team. She has the ability, but especially the desire to be at or near the top of the GNAC in digging stats."
