Prior to Alaska... was a four-year volleyball athlete and two-year co-captain (2005-06) for the Skyview Panthers of the Northern Lights Conference in Soldotna, Alaska ... played two seasons of club volleyball with Peninsula Midnight Sun ... also played soccer and basketball in high school and was a high-jumper and hurdler for the Panther track and field team ... was a member of the Panther squad that captured the Homer Peninsula Challenge tournament title and was perfect (14-0) during the 2006 season ... she was the 2007 US Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete award recipient and was also a Wendy's High School Heisman Female Athlete of the Year State finalist in 2006.
